Google Search Becomes More Social with Twitter Flickr and Quora

Google has rolled out an update to its search results that will make your friends and contacts play a prominent role in what you see first. Google Social Search has been around since 2009 but has played a fairly minor supporting role until now. With the update, Google will use data from sources like Buzz, Reader, Twitter, Quora, and Flickr to position your personalized search results.

Now, integrated with your results, you'll see what your friends link to in their Tweets, Flickr shares and more mixed in with your search results. If your friend shared a video on Twitter, it might show up higher than, let's say, a slightly more popular video. Another updated feature is that you can also see shared content from your private accounts.
