Lovable Robot USB Hubs

Now this is a robot you don’t have to worry about taking over the world. When everything has been taken over by robots, these will stay happily neutral thanks to their simple function. Even their look is completely harmless, since they look more similar to what we believed robots would look like about 50 years ago. Now that we’re closer to an age of robots, we have a much more sophisticated idea of robots, obviously.
The robot has a total of 4 USB ports, one on each arm and then one on the bottom of each foot. The location of the second set seems a little inconvenient. In order to use all 4 you’d have to lay down the robot flat instead of letting it proudly stand at attention on your desk. This comes in 6 different colors and each color has a different design. You can pick it up in red, pink, black, gray, light blue and yellow. Each one costs $18.95.
HOLO 2.0 is your futuristic wrist-computer

Okay, this device is definitely on my “I have got to get me one of these” list.
According to my source, this is a concept design from India, and their marketing department wants its release in 2015.
I suppose by that time we will all be over the whole touchscreen, and we will want holograms. Hence the HOLO 2.0.
As you can see from the illustration, this is a mobile device that you wear around your writs, and then project holograms of whatever operating system that you are using.
Call me stupid, but I don’t know of any mobile device that can do holography, unless you are going for 2D images projected on a solid wall.
I suppose that would be HOLO 1.0, wouldn’t it? After all, why call this HOLO 2.0?
Okay, I think that we all know that we are headed for a future where everyone has a do-it-all mobile device. Some believe that it is the iPhone, but I think it is more of a convenient device that you wear on your wrist.
I think we also know that holograms are the wave of the future, but we don’t quite have the “Star Wars” feel on them just yet, do we?
In short, the HOLO 2.0 is ahead of its time, and I can’t help but wonder just how far ahead of its time it is.
Iron Man 2 USB Drive

Now that Iron Man 2 has hit the theaters and most people have had a chance to swing by and watch it, if you liked it you might want a little gear to go with it. Thankfully Tyme Machine has a small but useable item to show off your love for the new movie. Normally he looks like just a cute miniature of Iron Man 2, but if you pop off his head it’ll reveal a USB drive stored within.
The drive is a fully sculpted 3D drive that comes in several different sizes. Those being 4GB, 8GB and 16GB. Sadly they don’t say if he lights up at all when he’s actually plugged into a USB port. To get your own 4GB it costs $34.99, for the 8GB it’s $44.99 and the 16GB is $59.99. If you intend to use it for music the site lets you know exactly how many hours of music you’ll get with each individual drive.

When it comes to digital storage on your computer, it is still a toss up between Solid State Drives (SSDs) and the traditional stronghold, the hard drive. Wellm there are pros and cons associated with either one, where the former offers superior speed not to mention the lack of moving parts which means it generates virtually no noise with no chance of a mechanical breakdown. On the other hand, the hard drive holds the advantage in offering the cheapest cost-per-Gigabyte ratio and looks to do so for a long time to come. Really, the choice is yours when it boils down to this, but perhaps Corsair’s latest introduction of three more SSDs from its Force Series might just change your mind? Let us take a look at what they offer right in the extended post.
The Corsair Force Series SSDs will comprise of the F60, F120, and F240 models, where you can tell just how much storage space they offer simply by looking at the model number, which ranges from 60GB to 120GB and 240GB, respectively. All three of them are constructed using the Sandforce SF-1200 SSD Processors, which will offer virtually unparalleled write endurance, superior ECC data protection, and outstanding performance at that particular price point. Corsair engineers have also worked closely with Sandforce to implement and qualify firmware that is able to guarantee the unusually fast 4K random write performance of 180 MB/s, measured using the ATTO benchmark. With this elevated 4K write speed, it can generate 15K IOPs, resulting in excellent system performance and responsiveness. All Force Series SSDs will implement the ATA TRIM command, and are supported by Windows 7 that will help maintain optimal performance over the drive’s lifetime.
The F60, F120, and F240 Force Series SSDs will also support the maximum throughput specification of 285MB/s read and 275MB/s write. Not only that, you can be sure that there will be no drop-off in performance when moving down to 60GB, which makes the F60 an ideal boot drive for a performance system, where it will be further enhanced when you combine it with a traditional spinning media for mass storage. There is no word on pricing as at press time, but the Force Series F60, F120, and F240 SSDs are expected to be available from next month onwards.
Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 Studio Series

Microsoft might be a software giant, but when it comes to hardware, they aren’t exactly the brightest kid on the block. After all, one of their most notable releases in the past was the ergonomic keyboard which was split down the middle and raised up in certain places, claiming it to be a whole lot easier on your hands. Well, while it was mighty comfortable to type on (I admit!), it wasn’t exactly conducive for gaming purposes, what with all the keyboard shortcuts used in various game genres, ranging from RTS titles to First Person Shooters. Well, they too have come up with mice as well, but those were nothing to write home about. Recently, Microsoft has updated their Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 Studio Series with bold new colors to make sure your mobile gear will stay true to the times with its wide range of colors as well as design.
Their team wanted to take these mice a step beyond color, and aims to usher in the summer with a slew of designs thanks to a collaborative effort from team members. Each graphic began has its humble beginning as a series of sketches, where they eventually filled the entire hallway outside our design studio. After a whole lot of debates (and we presume, lobbying), selected favorites were then evolved into digital drawings and infused into the surface of each mouse. Of course, the team managed to come up with such designs after being inspired by the incredible patterns found in nature, including rock formations and stones, alongside the bold and modern graphic style which you see everywhere especially in the skate and snowboard industry. Those inspirations merged to create minimal designs alive with vivid colors. You can choose from a trio of graphics – Wave, Folk and Geode. Wave is a vibrant organic pattern, Folk was inspired by Scandinavian and tribal art, and Geode references rock facets and formations.
The Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 Studio Series will retail for $29.95 a pop from Best Buy Stores as an exclusive, and if such fancy designs are not your cup of tea, they will be available in a solid color, which are purple, red and blue, alongside the original grey and pink colors.
Blob and Flow keeps you company

Sometimes when you’re sitting at that computer screen it gets awful lonely. No amount of social networking or online chats will give you the companionship that you need and crave. Just tap this silver little pet and he’ll respond to your touch in all sorts of pleasant ways. Then when you’re tired of his bouncy little personality, you can force him to fall asleep.
These lights come in a blue and red form. Tap them once while they’re asleep and he’ll pop to life. You can also lightly tap him and make him wink as well as make him go a little crazy. To make him sleep again just hold down with your finger a little bit longer. It plugs directly into your USB port to keep it up and powered. This won’t be available until about the mid point of June. You can pre-order the Mathmos creation for £35.00 or about $50.
USB Physical Therapy Instrument

If you’re in desperate need of some relief in your neck or shoulders, then maybe it’s time to give even the strange methods a try. This USB device is pretty safe to toss in the strange category, but it might still do the trick. It’ll help out those with chronic problems or just anyone who has a long work day and needs to relax those muscles while they’re trapped in the office.
It uses body bioelectricity emulation technology, which is using the lectrophysiology simulating traditional herbalism. Now I have no idea what half of that means, but as long as it does the trick, who actually cares? It obviously requires a USB port to keep it powered. You can purchase one of these for $37 through USB Brando. Although you should be warned that anyone with heart disease, atrial pacing or is pregnant should avoid using the massager.
USB Brick 4-Port Hub the 2nd

f you weren’t quite thrilled with the first Lego inspired hub that became available, thankfully there is this new one. It’s not all that much different, but it might just be different enough to get you to finally take one home. Honestly, as cheap and as awesome as there are, everyone should have at least two. Of course I don’t have any either, but I’m aware that I should. I’m getting around to it.
These 2nd round models just look a little chunkier than the 1st round. The similar things are that they’re stackable, have 4 ports and look like Lego bricks. The hubs come in a total of 3 colors, including brown, white and yellow. They aren’t exactly the more popular Lego colors of red and blue, but they’ll do the trick. You can purchase one of these for $10
Buffalo Technology offers MediaStation 12x External USB 3.0 Blu-ray Writer

Buffalo Technology has placed on the table a world’s first – we’re talking about the MediaStation 12x External USB 3.0 Blu-ray Writer here, where it is the first external USB 3.0 Blu-ray writer of its kind for the commercial market at the moment. Buffalo has more or less been associated with network devices as well as direct attached solutions, so it is no surprise to see a Blu-ray writer being introduced this time round. What you get with the MediaStation 12x External USB 3.0 Blu-ray Writer would be unsurpassed 12x Blu-ray write speeds that is not confined to a drive bay in your computer or notebook, making it possible to tote around wherever you are without missing a beat. Not only that, since it is the fastest in the market currently, you can always ensure that all your backups are done swiftly without having to grow a beard while waiting.
The MediaStation 12x External USB 3.0 Blu-ray Writer has been touted to be the ideal device for users who want optimal playback and writing performance of Blu-ray discs, DVDs, or CDs on their PCs or notebooks, and even for archiving purposes. Its main point would be to connect through USB 3.0 of course, but just in case your computer has not been upgraded or updated to feature such a port, being stuck in the USB 2.0 era, it is backwards compatible as well, going about its work without batting an eyelid (although you will need to wait it out longer when copying discs or data).
Each purchase comes with the CyberLink Blu-ray 3D Ready Media Suite that will enable full HD and Blu-ray 3D playback and upgrades consumers’ in-home movie experience with 3D movie playback or HD upscaling for standard DVD discs and video files. Sounds great, so make sure your home theater system (or at least computer entertainment system is up to par for this new experience). Apart from that, CyberLink Media Suite also offers a complete and premium Blu-ray burning and playback solution. The following media formats are supported by the MediaStation 12x External USB 3.0 Blu-ray Writer – BD-R SL 8x Read / 12x Write, DVD –R SL 16x Read / 16x Write and CD-R 40x Read / 40x Write. Expect to fork out $349.99 for this puppy as it rolls out before the month is over.
High Heel Speakers

If you’re a woman who seriously loves her heels or just any general person with a serious foot fetish, now you can have a pair of speakers to show off your real love in the world. These bright red shoes are sure to attract all sorts of attention, so you’d better be ready to come out of the closet with your foot or shoe loving tendencies.
You may think it’s incredibly strange for anyone to create speakers like this, much less have anyone buy them, but there’s something you should know. The speakers are Japanese, nuff said. The USB speakers have an output of 3W x 2ch. Should you be highly interested in getting a pair, they’re not the cheapest USB speakers out there. They cost 4480 Yen or about $55, plus the amount of shipping it costs to get them outside of Japan.
USB LED Desk Lamp Plus Fan

Having a small desk usually means you have to sacrifice some of the things you’d like to keep around or you’re going to have to use up floor space. If you need a fan and a light, but don’t have the room you could always get a fan to sit on the floor and a lamp for your desk. Then again, you could also use one of these USB lamps that doubles as a fan. Of course, it might help if you prefer bright flowery gadgets, because this is the only version of the fan up for sale.
To keep it powered the combination gadget just plugs into your normal USB port. There is one tiny detail that they mention at the very very bottom of the product specs, you cannot actually work the fan and light at the exact same time. That means you’ll have to choose between light and cooling yourself off. At least it’s mildly cooler at night when you’ll need the light the most. If you’re still interested despite that little snag, you can pick one of these up for $16
