Gmail Motion Becomes Real With Kinect Hack
On April 1, Google had introduced Gmail Motion - Google’s April Fools pranks, which was basically Gmail controlled by a range of funny hand actions, now the guys over at ICT at the University of Southern California, have created their own version of Gmail Motion using Microsoft’s Kinect.
In the demo video, ICT researcher Evan Suma explains that the Kinect Sensor is hooked to a Windows machine and then used a Software Library Optimizing Obligatory Waving (SLOOW) middle ware. The SLOOW detects human waving motion and then interacts with Gmail with pre-mentioned controls. Sounds pretty interesting, isn t it? Take a look at the video on how this Kinect hack works with Google.
