Logitech has unveiled a completely solar-powered keyboard that is being billed as the world’s first and the slimmest PV-powered keyboard. Christened the K750, the solar keyboard can be charged from the sun or an indoor lamp after, which it can function for about four months in total darkness.

With a billed lifetime of over 15 years, the keyboard is just 7mm thick and is five times more energy efficient than any other keyboard that Logitech has made. The K750 features low-power integrated circuits, a power optimized wireless link and two efficient solar panels to charge the onboard battery.

The company has also created a free desktop application for Windows that can accurately tell the energy currently stored in the keyboard and the current light levels. The K750 will be available on Logitech’s website from December at a retail price of 79 Euros.
